We are proud to announce the Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards 2020 Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award winner: Mark Hawkins, President and CFO of Salesforce
The 2020 Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco and will feature Mr. Hawkins accepting his award as well as winners in six other categories.
The annual dinner and awards ceremony is attended by more than 500 Bay Area business executives and community leaders and has raised over $6 million since its inception. All proceeds benefit Larkin Street Youth Services, the leading provider of housing, health services, job placement and more to young people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.
The Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a current or former CFO of a public or private company whose contribution has significantly and uniquely impacted the greater Bay Area business community over the course of his or her career.
“I’m truly humbled to receive this recognition and support the great work of Larkin Street Youth Services,” said Mark Hawkins, President and CFO of Salesforce. “I’ve always subscribed to the notion that we go faster and farther when we go together. This honor is no exception. It simply would not be possible without the advice and wisdom of the many talented individuals I’ve worked alongside and the steadfast support of my wife and family.”
Hawkins is responsible for leading the company’s global finance organization and is a member of the company’s executive committee reporting directly to chair and CEO, Marc Benioff.
Under Hawkins’ leadership, Salesforce discloses the company’s environmental, social, and governance initiatives and metrics in annual financial filings with the SEC and annual stakeholder reports. The company was recognized for these efforts by winning the “Communicating Integrated Thinking” award from the Finance For the Future, as well as selected as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices.
Hawkins has more than 30 years of experience with leading finance organizations at global software and technology companies including Autodesk, Logitech, Dell, and Hewlett-Packard. At Autodesk, Hawkins served as CFO and Executive Vice President from 2009 to 2014, leading the global finance, information technology and procurement organizations. From 2006 to 2009, Hawkins was CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance and IT at Logitech International SA.
From 2000 to 2006, Hawkins served as Vice President of Finance for Dell’s worldwide procurement and logistics organization, as well as Vice President of Finance for Dell’s U.S. Home Segment. Prior to Dell, Hawkins spent nearly 19 years at Hewlett-Packard where he held a variety of finance and business management roles, including a two-year posting in Europe.
