Announcing the 2022 Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award Winner: Kathy Lancaster of Kaiser Permanente


We are proud to announce the Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards 2022 Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award winner: Kathy Lancaster, Executive Vice President and CFO of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals. 

The 2022 Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco and will feature Lancaster accepting her award as well as winners in six other categories. 

The annual dinner and awards ceremony is attended by more than 500 Bay Area business executives and community leaders and has raised over $6 million since its inception. All proceeds benefit Larkin Street Youth Services, the leading provider of housing, health services, job placement and more to young people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco.

The Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a current or former CFO of a public or private company whose contribution has significantly and uniquely impacted the greater Bay Area business community over the course of his or her career.

In her role, Lancaster has accountability for Corporate Finance, Treasury, Financial Planning, Capital Planning, Data Analytics, and Actuarial Services. She provides financial leadership for all of Kaiser Permanente’s markets and national business units.

Lancaster reports directly to Kaiser Permanente’s chair and chief executive officer and is a member of the National Executive Team.

Lancaster joined Kaiser Permanente in 1998, and held various senior leadership roles in strategy, finance, and capital planning before being promoted to chief financial officer in 2005.

Prior to coming to Kaiser Permanente, Lancaster held a number of leadership roles in underwriting and network management for Prudential Insurance Company’s Western region. She also spearheaded the company’s health maintenance organization in Northern California, leading the region’s financial turnaround.

Recently, Lancaster joined other executives on Modern Healthcare’s 2019 Top 25 Women Leaders list. The award recognizes the top women across the country working in health care who influence policy, lead change, and guide improvements to health care delivery.

Lancaster holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola Marymount University.
