We are proud to announce Harmit Singh, Chief Financial and Growth Officer of Levi Strauss & Co, as the Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards 2023 Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
In his role, Singh is responsible for managing the finance, strategy, information technology, strategic sourcing, real estate and global business services functions globally.
The 2023 Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, September 28 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco and will feature Singh accepting his award as well as winners in five other categories.
This event, presented by San Francisco Business Times in partnership with Larkin Street Youth Services, has raised more than $7 million for Larkin Street Youth Services, empowering homeless and at-risk youth by offering an award-winning model of housing, education, employment, and health services.
The Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a current or former CFO of a public or private company whose contribution has significantly and uniquely impacted the greater Bay Area business community over the course of his or her career.
Previously, Singh was executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer of Hyatt Hotels Corporation from August 2008 to December 2012. Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Yum! Brands, Inc. in a variety of global leadership roles, including senior vice president and Chief Financial Officer of Yum Restaurants International. Before joining Yum!, Singh worked in various financial capacities for American Express India & Area Countries.
In 2019, Singh joined the Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) project, helping to establish the U.S. Chapter of the organization and mobilize other prominent financial leaders to promote the business case for sustainability. In 2021, he was named the U.S. Co-Chair of A4S.
Singh served on the board of directors and the Audit Committee chair of Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. and is the former owner, operator, and franchisor of Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurants. Singh also served on the board of directors and the Audit Committee of OpenText Corporation.
