The Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards is presented by Larkin Street Youth Services in partnership with the San Francisco Business Times, and title sponsors EY, Marsh McLennan Agency, and PNC. Proceeds benefit Larkin Street’s work to prevent and end youth homelessness.
At this year’s Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards ceremony on Thursday, September 19 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, over 400 business leaders attended to celebrate the Finalists and Winners, raising $480,000 and counting to support Larkin Street.
Keith Taylor, CFO of Equinix, was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the finance and technology sectors. He joined Equinix in 1999 after holding key finance roles at International Wireless Communications and Becton Dickinson & Company. Throughout his career, Keith has received numerous accolades, including being named “Best CFO” on Institutional Investor’s prestigious list. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Invitation Homes, Frozen Logistics, and Yumpingo Ltd.
Keith holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Bishop’s University in Quebec and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. His career in accounting began at Ernst & Whinney in Toronto. He is also a founding member of the U.S. Chapter of the global Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) CFO Leadership Network, further highlighting his commitment to sustainable financial practices.
Tyree Booker, an alumnus of Larkin Street’s programs, gave an inspiring speech that deeply moved the audience. He described how the programs at Larkin Street fundamentally changed his life, providing him with essential skills for self-sufficiency. He mentioned that, equipped with these tools, he could potentially see himself as a CFO one day. Booker passionately remarked:
“Each opportunity at Larkin Street was a step towards building a more stable, independent life,” Booker said in his remarks.”
