While The Duckhorn Portfolio has long been a benchmark for excellence in the American wine industry, guided by the experience, financial acumen and empowering leadership style of Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Lori Beaudoin, it has also earned a reputation as the most dynamic and successful luxury wine company in North America. Leading an acclaimed Finance Team, Beaudoin is responsible for acquisitions, corporate capital structure, tax strategy, financial planning, reporting and analysis, accounting, and IT.
During her 14-year tenure as CFO, Beaudoin has been instrumental in transforming Duckhorn from a small, luxury wine producer into a luxury wine powerhouse. Working with President and CEO Alex Ryan, Beaudoin has played a pivotal role in executing a host of major vineyard acquisitions, including the purchase of the famed Three Palms Vineyard, established Canvasback winery in Washington State, acquired two of the world’s most iconic Pinot Noir producers: Calera and Kosta Browne, launched the Greenwing and Postmark brands, guided the growth of Decoy, which has become an industry juggernaut, and led The Duckhorn Portfolio’s sale to TSG Consumer Partners in 2016. As a culminating achievement in her career, Beaudoin managed the Company’s entrance into the public equity markets in 2021, resulting in the wine industry’s first IPO (NAPA) of note in 20 years, raising $300 million. Along the way, Beaudoin has achieved topline and EBITDA growth of more than 10X while at The Duckhorn Portfolio, and from 2019-2022, she helped lead the organization to remarkable Revenue and Gross Profit growth of 58% and 71%.
Prior to joining The Duckhorn Portfolio, Beaudoin was the SVP, Chief Financial Officer of the Personal Care Products Category of Hain Celestial Group, Inc., a $4 billion organic products company. Beaudoin is a Certified Public Accountant and is an active member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. One of the most admired and respected CFOs in the wine industry, Beaudoin was honored for her transformational leadership with the North Bay Business Journal’s CFO of the Year award in 2012, and is nominated for the 2023 CFO of the Year award by the The San Francisco Business Times.
“From joining our team during the Great Recession to stewarding our IPO during the global pandemic, Lori has always been a model of grace and professionalism,” said CEO Alex Ryan. “She has succeeded again and again, while achieving record-setting results. She is a world-class CFO who has been instrumental in our success. We would not be where we are today if not for Lori’s leadership and dedication.”
